Alien in Girl Accessories store.

Dear Manager of (insert name of Girl Accessories store here),

On (insert date/day here), I walked into your store, (insert store name here), at CityLink.

Unfortunately, your sales person by the name of (insert name of sales person here) has not performed well because she stared at me as if I'm some sort of an alien when I walked into your store alone.

I am disappointed because your sales person did not treat me as a normal customer, clearly the service was not performed correctly. I expect (insert sales person name) to go about doing her own thing while I shop for my girlfriend. Apparently something was not disclosed clearly to her, as my presence was misrepresented, something about wonderful boyfriends shopping alone for gifts for their girlfriends in (
insert name of Girl Accessories store here).

To resolve the problem, I would appreciate it if you could provide specific training for all of your sales person worldwide/island wide on how to treat male customers patronizing
(insert name of Girl Accessories store here). Enclosed are copies of my memories including copies of (insert whatever memories you have other than this one here).

I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my problem, and will wait until (set a time limit here) before going on a internet rampage, posting this 1337 letter all over the interwebz. Please contact me at the above address or by phone at (insert phone number here).

Yours sincerely,
(insert your name here for faster response.)

I'm a cellphone freak

and here are my five commandments of having/using cellphone.

1. Thou shalt attempt to pickup thy cellphone every time it rings/vibrates.
The reason for having a cellphone is... so that you can contact people and vice versa. If you're not picking up normal calls(non prank/advert/telemarketing) then why do you want a cellphone?

2. Thou shalt not set thy cell to vibrate permanently.
Why would you want to set your cellphone to vibrate permanently? Are you in a meeting 24/7 or do you wish people not to disturb you. If you wish people to not disturb you, turn it off or do not get a cellphone, then nobody, NOBODY can disturb you.

3. Thou shalt not use cellphone set to vibrate as a excuse for not answering.
Millions and millions of people use 'my cellphone was set to vibrate' as an excuse to not pick up their calls/reply their sms, time to nip this in the butt.

When you set your cell to vibrate you want to know that someone is calling but do not want the ring tone to disturb everyone. This action tells us that you have the intention to pickup the call. You should turn off your cell when you have no intention of picking up.

4. Thou shalt buy thy cellphone in view of using it 24/7.
Buy a cellphone but want to turn it off x% of the time? Might as well use your house phone/pay phone/office phone/borrow your friend's cell and save on your monthly bills.

5. Thou shalt accept this 5 commandments.
Cellphones are invented for everybody's convenience, not just yours. By not picking up thy cell, you are robbing others their right to convenience(contacting you).

Don't be selfish, pick up the call and make the world a better place. 99% of the time, Communication leads to good things.

Queueing for the iPhone 3G?!

This is just in, iDiots are queueing up outside the 5th Ave Apple Store 1 week ahead for the iPhone 3g.

WHAT THE FRANK?!

1 week ahead, seriously? During the last iPhone launch, people just walk in in the afternoon instead of in the morning, and pick up their iPhone without even waiting. Ridiculous how people would love Apple so much its almost insane.

Do these people have jobs?

No, but apparently they love Jobs,

So much so that they would give him a b***job?

Its incredible how these iDiots iDol Jobs and Apple as a whole.

This is madness, total madness, I wonder if Singaporeans being the typical kiasu type will queue up one week ahead to buy an iPhone.

My bet is on No.

You see a kid/baby there right? That baby girl is only 6 months old and she has to join her uncle craig(in red shrit) to queue one week for a bloody iPhone which she cannot use. The 10 or so people there are likely to be together and they have a grand vision of breaking some waiting/queueing record.

I pity the baby. Hope they have some kinda tent or what ready because its likely going to rain.

  • All the things they say about 3G is 99% wrong. 3G device doesn't not have more room, storage room is based on flash memory like 8gigabytes or 16gigabytes and its up to the manufacturer to decide.
  • It's 3rd Generation alright but saying 3rd Generation is just telling us the name, only skin deep.
  • Its only faster in surfing the web and no it does not have the internet, it has the ability to surf the internet. Its only slighlty updated with 3G and A-GPS.
  • WTF Steve Jobs is the man, Steves Jobs is great? Its basically screaming fanboys.

Disappointed

I did not bring her to Jurong Bird Park.
I'm disappointed with myself.
I know you are disappointed with me.
I'm very sorry that I didn't keep my promise.
I know that saying sorry cannot solve everything
but I'm sorry, sorry is all I can say.

Just Lost It

A sudden fit of anger.

The cruelty.

The mercilessness.

The rage.

The spouting of nonsense.

The wake up call.

The relief after the spout of nonsense.

The heartache.

The decision.

The end.

Super Mario Bros?

I dare say almost every one of or around my age, maybe older has played Super Mario Bros before, I'm thinking some of them are still playing because its just seriously and addictively fun.

Stepping on the evil mushrooms/turtles etc and eating the mushrooms to grow big or spew fireball. Saving Princess Peach/Toadstool and occasionally if your not careful, falling into the pits or getting killed by evil mushrooms and fireball-spewing flowers etc.

What does all this this signify? Is Super Mario Bros really just a dumb game whereby Mario jumps around and over obstacles trying to save Princess Peach?

The answer might just suprise you!

Holiday mood FTW!

I have a test tomorrow, its ridiculous. I have had 2 weeks of holidays already and you expect me to have the mood to study, please gimme a break.

I can't even get shit into my brains, let alone words which doesn't make sense. The computer and the internet as a whole isn't helping either.

Off to bed and pray hard for me.

Dear Father in Heaven, most Gracious and Loving God, please grant me the power to excel in my test. I know what it is pointless if I do not help myself and study, but I swear I tried to study.

I thank You now Lord for the recent blessings I have received and for the blessings yet to come because I know You are not done with me yet. Amen.

Swimming

ahaha, went swimming today, wasn't so bad at all.
I'm too old for swimming already. 2 laps and I'm already feeling the breathless-ness. I use to swim like 10 laps at one go without feeling anything.

For those who thinks that the iPhone 3G is cheaper than the current iPhone, think again.
  • AppleInsider mentioned that a prepaid iPhone 3G in UK could cost about £350.
  • The current 2G at 600-700SGD is without a plan.
  • Apple is greedy, they would never price the device at 199 without telco subsidy.
  • AT&T is paying Apple 325USD susidy per iPhone.
  • You pay the telco back the subsidy through your monthly subscription/plan.
  • Telcos are also also greedy, their objective is also, like Apple, to earn your money.
  • Think logically and stop thinking that the iPhone 3G is only 199USD without considering the susidy and monthly subscription.

The points above can easily tell you how greedy Apple and the respective telcos' are. Think about point 7 and tell me whether the iPhone 3G is indeed only 199. Obviously not, you dumbass.

The current iPhone is 600-700SGD without a plan but the iPhone 3G, although priced at 199USD, you still have to sign a two year contract min. and a data plan as well. You would be paying close to 2 thousand dollars just to get your hands on the iPhone 3G. Good deal? I don't think so.

What would be the scenario when Singtel finally launches the iPhone 3G. I predict that:

  • iPhone 3G will be priced at 199USD or 299USD depending on the capacity(16 or 8GB)
  • You would be required to sign a contract of 2 years minimum.
  • You would also have to subscribe to a dataplan as well
  • You can use the iPhone 3G on any network in Singapore (M1, StarHub or Singtel)
  • You would have to activate the iPhone 3G on the spot, in the shop.
  • iPhone 3G will be offered without contract but at exorbitant prices e.g. 1000SGD

StarHub and M1 will also be getting iPhone 3G at a later date, smart consumers will wait until then. Consumers in Singapore are so gullible, they believe whatever companies feed them, exactly like what she said.

Whenever there is a sale, people will rush to buy, be it useful or not, necessary or not. Some even buy to store it for future use. Does it even ever occur to them that there are better revision/products coming in the future and the sale now is apparently to clear out old stock?

no more UIR but still Using-Internet-Ridiculously!

Friday, February 1, 2008 was the date of the previous post. Damn, time flies so fast. Its already June now, June 21 to be exact.

Frankly speaking, this whole UIR blog thing was basically just a half-baked job by me. Posts were clearly posted in a single shot, on a single day, I merely just edited the date on the posts to reflect the days when I have UIR lessons. Anyhow I'm already graded for UIR, that is why I'm here to confess.

Lets talk about current issues. Rising oil prices, inflation, rising transport fares, everything is rising and its ridiculously expensive to even step out of the house.

Talking about stepping out of the house, I've blown a hundred over bucks these few days on food and stuffs for/on her, mostly on food and abit of her, well it always have something to do with her be it food or not. Food is so expensive nowadays its ridiculous but I never scrimp on food ever.
I recalled having Fish&Co on Tuesday and KungFu Panda yesterday and had her favourite Korean Saba fish and Nihon Mura (translated to mean Japan Village) today.

Lets move on and talk about movies or in this case a particular movie.

Religulous
So why am I interested in this movie? Simple, because I'm until now still unsure about Deities and Gods (I know there is only one true God for some but just bear with me for a while here).

Uncertainty brings about doubt and doubt puts ????????? in my head.

There are questions I would have loved to ask here in this blog, but it might be too controversial for my own good/head.

This movie or rather documentary above is very controversial because of the inclusion of religion. I'm not even sure if it will be approved in Singapore.

While I'm not an atheist (I often pray to above for help and I also visit temples to pray), but I can't help but wonder just how powerful the deities/gods/god are. Using my best friend (Google.com), I stumbled upon this!

After watching and reading that site and youtubing their vids, it started to make me wonder........

DO YOU WONDER TOO?!

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and religion. I'm just here to post about something I found that is really interesting to me. I've heard and personally experienced something that is out of this world before (unless my eyes are lying to me) but still it makes me wonder............

Mr Ridiculous

Most important and amazing lesson learnt EVER!

Personally, I think that the most important lesson ever learn is not a single lesson, but UIR as a whole.

UIR as a whole has helped me understand how to search for specific results using operators and keywords. Evaluating resources and websites based on different criteria and understanding different search engines such as a MetaCrawler, Google and Yahoo Directory. How to differentiate different quality websites. I am also able to do researches using the internet with ease and also provide useful and quality information for my researches.

And a lot of other things and rubbish which I won't mention here. But UIR as a whole is really good, not a lot of assignments and I would say its pretty slack around here in class! Many thanks to Ms Faridah!

Practical 7, woots!

Time files, its Practical 7 already. I'm starting to like UIR more and more. Its definitely an easy subject.

Anyways, lets get on with today's work! I used Practical 7 to do up some research for my assignment 2 and learnt a lot from it.

I started researching on 3.5G, a.k.a HSDPA, and 3.75G, a.k.a HSUPA.

So, what exactly is HSDPA/HSUPA?
This is why I'm blogging here, cos I'm like the smart one who knows all and your, the sheep will follow me to learn more!

Without further ado,

Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), also known as 3.5G, is a mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.4 Mbit/s. Applications with high data demands such as video and streaming music are the focus of HSDPA

In layman's term you pay more each month to Singtel/StarHub/M1 if you want to enjoy faster mobile surfing, video and music streaming.

High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) also known as 3.75G is a mobile telephony protocol in the HSPA family with up-link speeds up to 5.76 Mbit/s. The 3GPP does not support the name 'HSUPA' created by Nokia, but instead uses the name Enhanced Uplink (EUL).The technical purpose of the Enhanced Uplink feature is to improve the performance of uplink to increase capacity and throughput and reduce delay.

In layman's term you pay more each month to Singtel/StarHub/M1 if you want to enjoy faster mobile surfing, video and music streaming.
